April - Spring Renewal Full Moon

It's a full moon on Tuesday, April 23 at 4:49 PM PDT.

This full moon marks a huge shift in energy, with several planets transiting into a new constellation over the next few days (Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus), the super-rare Jupiter-Uranus conjunction and Mercury going direct again on April 25!

As every year at this time, the full moon will be aligned with the constellation Libra (sidereal astrology). The Aries-Balance axis invites us to reflect on the balance between self and others, selfishness and sharing, individualism and partnership, rigidity and compromise.

More precisely, the full moon will be aligned with the star Arcturus, known in Vedic astrology as Swati, the "star of independence". Its symbol is a reed in the wind, inviting us to be supple and flexible, and not to "break" in the face of unforeseen or uncontrollable events. With Swati, we must beware of indecision, agitation and dispersion.

Swati is ruled by Vayu, god of wind and air. It's the ideal time to become aware of the importance of breath and breathing for our physical, mental and spiritual well-being, and to practice breathwork and pranayamas, the best remedy against restlessness and dispersion!

In India, we celebrate Hanuman Jayanti. In the Ramayana, Hanuman is the monkey-god who came to free Sita, Rama's beloved, kidnapped by the demon Ravana. In Hindu mythology, Hanuman is the son of Vayu, god of the wind. In us, he symbolizes the breath that is the indispensable tool for freeing our soul (Sita) from the clutches of the ego trapped in illusion. It also symbolizes our "monkey-mind", which must be turned inward to serve the Divine.

Mercury is in Pisces with the North Node and Neptune until May 11. We may be more emotional and moody than usual. This is not the best time to listen to reason and logic, but rather to listen to and develop your intuition. In fact, it's better to wait before making important decisions, but if you must, it's better to listen to your feelings than your reason!

Mars enters Pisces with Neptune until June, awakening the spiritual warrior in us, the will power. This energy must be channeled to serve the greater whole.

Venus is in transition between Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, and Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. This is the time to let go of old relationship dynamics and embrace new ways of relating to others. This transition, up to April 27, can make us more febrile and vulnerable, meeting and untying the knots of the heart. We could experience a surge of creativity and passion. But be careful, we mustn't move too fast in love!

Finally, the Jupiter-Uranus super conjunction, which only occurs every 14 years or so, at the same time as they transit Taurus (Jupiter on May 1 for one year, and Uranus on June 1 for 7 years) will bring a creative and spiritual renewal. Everyone will feel this shift. On a global level, it should be good for the environment. Uranus (technology) in Taurus (banking) could bring a transition to increasingly digital money in the coming years. The presence of Jupiter is favorable for this to happen ethically, let's hope! Happy full moon!
