Karna Purna = filling the ears with oil is an Ayurvedic treatment that helps to pacify Vata and bring grounding. Each sense organ is related to one of the elements.

Ear (Hearing) = Space

Skin (Touch) = Air

Eyes (Sight) = Fire

Tongue (Taste) = Water

Nose (Smell) = Earth

And so to calm any conditions concerning the aggravated Space element, ears are an effective method of pacification. This treatment is useful in conditions of: feeling spacey, inability to focus or concentrate, anxiety, excessive thoughts, insomnia, ear ache, loss of hearing, vertigo, ringing in the ears.

In this, the correct dosha specific oil is used to bath the ear along with ear, head, neck and face massage. It is an exceptionally soothing and relaxing treatment.
