July - Sweet New Moon of Renewal

It will be the new moon this Friday, July 9 at 6:17 pm (Pacific time).

It will be aligned with the constellation Gemini (sidereal astrology), more precisely Castor and Pollux, called Punarvasu in Vedic astrology.

Punarvasu is called the "star of renewal". It is the return of the light after the storm of the tumultuous nakshatra that precedes it, Ardra (the star Betelgeuse). Punarvasu brings us to resilience, to start again something we have not succeeded or to finish what has not been completed. It is a time to start anew by letting go of the past.

This nakshatra is ruled by Aditi, the mother of the gods. It has a maternal side (it extends to the constellation of Cancer) and leads us to care for others, to love unconditionally. Aditi also means "she who is unlimited and infinite", and invites us to embrace all dualities in this time of great polarization and division, to go beyond judgment. It also gives great power of manifestation. This is the time to send out our best intentions!

By the next full moon (the 23rd), Mercury is in its own sign of Gemini which is excellent for business, communications, learning.

However, beware of the Mars-Venus conjunction in the nakshatra of the snake (Ashlesha), which can bring passion, emotional excess in relationships, deception and romantic intrigue, especially during their exact conjunction, called "planetary war" in Vedic astrology, which will take place from July 11 to 15. Mars in Cancer has difficulty managing emotions, especially anger, and can bring passive aggression or emotional manipulation. However, this is an excellent "position" for tantrism, spiritualization of sexuality, kundalini awakening. Happy full moon!
