August - Musical full moon in Aquarius

It's a full moon on Monday August 19 at 11:26 am PDT in the constellation Aquarius.

It's known as the “corn moon” or “barley moon”. Natives call it the sturgeon moon.

In Vedic astrology, the full moon takes place in the nakshatra Dhanishta (star of symphony), which is ruled by the eight Vasus, guardians of the directions and elements that make up our manifested world. It is symbolized by Shiva's drum (damaru). It invites us to find a rhythm in our lives and to harmonize with the great cosmic rhythm, the Dance of Shiva. It's an excellent time to use sound and music to connect with the Divine, to explore mantra chanting, dance, sound baths, to listen to the sounds of nature that are not the result of chance but part of a vast universal symphony, the Word, the primordial Sound, the “Om” that sustains all creation.

In astronomy, Dhanistha is the constellation of the dolphin. Like the dolphin, we need to make space to have fun, to contact our inner bliss, and always remember that Life is a Game and that our True Nature is Joy, Serenity, Eternity and Immortality!

Dhanista is also linked to abundance and wealth. This is the time to set intentions and take actions to bring more abundance into our lives.

Until August 30, the Sun is aligned with the star Regulus, in Leo, associated with ancestors. This is a time to connect with and honor those who came before us. This star is also associated with royalty and nobility, and we must always remember the greatness and dignity of our soul, our true being.

The Mars-Jupiter conjunction can lead us to fight for good causes. For most of the month, its square (T-square) to Venus and Saturn can bring tension, tug-of-war, a lack of delicacy, mistrust in our relationships, a feeling of stagnation, a lack of fluidity between the different aspects of our lives, etc.

We could also be hypersensitive, feverish and encounter emotional knots due to Mercury retrograde in a gandantha zone (karmic knot), from Leo to Cancer, until September 6. Happy end of summer and full moon to all!
