November - Diwali New Moon
It will be the last new moon of the year on Monday December 30 at 2:27 pm PST.
It will be aligned with the constellation Sagittarius (sidereal astrology). This sign is represented by a centaur holding a bow and arrow and staring at a target. It's time to set goals for the new year ahead!
The new moon takes place in the lunar constellation (nakshatra) called Purvashada, the “invincible star”. This nakshatra is ruled by Apas, the goddess of purifying waters. As the year draws to a close, it's time to let go of all the impurities in our physical, emotional and mental bodies and enter the new year renewed and regenerated, so we can start afresh, on new foundations. It's also a good time to work with water, taking baths, going to the spa, bathing in cold water, going to the sea, etc., to heal ourselves.
Mars continues its retrograde in Cancer until the end of February, and will be opposed by Pluto in the 1st half of January. This can make us hypersensitive, irritable and impulsive. We may have less energy, discipline and fighting spirit. It's time to face up to deep emotional wounds with courage in order to heal them.
Now, an overview of the year 2025 according to Vedic astrology and in my humble opinion! This year promises to be very special, with rare and exceptional configurations, especially in the first half of the year.
Two key dates: March 29 and June, when many planets change sign.
Firstly, the long exaltation of Venus, from February to June, which will bring openness of heart, empathy and devotion.
Then, the alignment of 7 planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Neptune and Rahou) at the time of the March 29 solar eclipse in Pisces, which will take us through a portal and bring a shift on many levels. It's been said that there will be a “before” and an “after”!
The energy of Pisces should bring a spiritual awakening, a lot of mutual aid and letting go, but also strong illusory energies, due to Neptune and Rahou. We'll need to be very discerning! Beware of false alien invasions, “false light” or other smokescreens! Pisces can also represent public health challenges (a new pandemic?) and, because of Neptune, Saturn and Rahou, natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods; in April, the latest Mars-Pluto opposition is quite explosive and unpredictable too.
Whatever happens, there will be mutual aid, empathy and the capacity for detachment with the energy of Pisces, Neptune and Venus. The strong influence of the beneficent planets Venus and Jupiter, who will be exchanging signs (parivartana), should make diplomacy, ethics and wisdom triumph!
The entry of Uranus (technology) into Taurus (banking) until 2032 could bring a form of digital currency and more and more digitization.
Then, in June, Jupiter enters Gemini, excellent for publishing and teaching; the nodes shift to the Leo-Verseau axis (more sharing and community living).
Finally, the rare Saturn-Neptune conjunction, which occurs every 36 years, is exceptionally long in 2025, lasting several months. This will be the time to turn our dreams and ideals into reality and take care of each other.
I wish us all a wonderful transition into this new year! What a time to be alive!
