June - New Moon of the Eclipsed Sun
It will be the new moon this Thursday, June 10 at 3:51 a.m. PDT and an annular solar eclipse will just precede it.
The solar eclipse will start at 1:43 am, reach its maximum at 2:39 am, and end at 3:39 am. The annular solar eclipse, called the ring of fire, will close the eclipse season until November 19. Eclipses always bring changes in the following months, especially if they fall on our natal planets!
The presence of the North Node, called "Rahu" in Vedic astrology, along with the Sun, Moon and Mercury could make us more self-centered and emotional. Rahu also gives us a desire to learn, to express who we really are and gives us more sensitivity to energies and entities.
Eclipse times are always portals to other dimensions and are very favorable for spiritual activities. What's more, Mercury will be "cazimi" on June 10 and 11, which means perfectly aligned with the Sun. Mercury represents "buddhi" the intellect, and the Sun, "atma" our soul. We could have flashes of enlightenment, big insights during these two days. Let's open our doors wide!
The new moon will be aligned with the constellation Orion, called Mrigashiras in Vedic astrology, the "star of search". It is ruled by the lunar deity Soma. This new moon gives us the connection to the magic of plants and a lot of artistic inspiration! However, gardeners beware: it is not favorable to plant or sow the day before and the day of an eclipse!
Soma is also the nectar of immortality that the gods enjoyed and that we all have within us! We have access to it through yoga, meditation, pranayamas, mudras and fasting. It is said that when this nectar flows down our throat, we are never hungry or thirsty again!
This new moon also corresponds to Shani Jayanti, the festival of Saturn, the planet that brings us wisdom, detachment and equanimity through obstacles, challenges and hard work.
Venus aligned with Betelgeuse until June 15 brings transformations in relationships, and sometimes stormy and turbulent ones. Mars in Cancer until July 21 can also make us more impatient and make it difficult to express emotions. Mercury retrograde ends on June 22 and we can finally move forward with our new projects.
