November - New Moon of Devotion
This will be the new moon on Wednesday, November 23 at 2:57pm PST.
Waning moons are a time for introspection, letting go of what no longer serves us.
The Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus will be aligned with the constellation Scorpio (sidereal astrology). Scorpio forces us to dive deep within ourselves and to bring to light all the dark and repressed corners of our psyche. The Moon in Scorpio can awaken hypersensitivity and emotional insecurity. In addition, from December 1st to 7th, Mercury and Venus will cross the tail of Scorpio, where the poison is. This place is called "gandantha" which means "knot to untie". We have to be careful with hurtful words, insinuations, jealousy, possessiveness during this period. We need to tap into the reservoir of infinite love in our hearts that heals all wounds. This is the perfect time to sing devotional songs, which are a powerful medicine for the heart!
The new moon will take place in the lunar constellation (nakshatra) called Anuradha. Anuradha means "disciple of the divine spark". It is related to Radha, the beloved of Krishna and signifies devotion to the Self. Its symbol is the lotus, which is the most beautiful flower but grows in the mud. It signifies the transformation of ugliness into beauty, transmutation, alchemy.
Anuradha is also ruled by Mithra, the god of friendship. This is a good time to take care of our friends and express our appreciation and love! Mithra is also the Divine Friend who stands deep within us, who accompanies us in our lives, and to whom we can confide at any time!
Mars and Venus will be in planetary exchange (parivartana) until December 5. This is favorable for passion, but with Mars retrograde, relationships can be tinged with unpredictability, impulsiveness, irritability! Happy introspection to all!
